I woke up in the middle of the night. As I blinked a few times and realized I was lying in the tent. Crickets and frogs chirped and croaked loudly. I saw a light outside and sat up. It was a small fire. Ember sat by it, probably sleeping.
"Did I wake you?" a voice whispered from behind me. I gasped and spun around. It was Nate, sitting up. He looked quite awake.
"Oh, um, no," I stuttered. "How do you feel?" He shrugged, than winced.
"I'm okay. I've had better days," he said. "How about you?"
"I'm fine," I said. "Just a little shocked." He nodded.
"Ember told me. I'm shocked too," he admitted. I lay back down and gave
